The Big Idea (see previous post)

This is 14" wide and 5" high -- I taped two small pieces of watercolor paper together to make my long and narrow shape.  You'll need to click on the "read more" for this post to see the whole thing.  I painted in acrylic gouache from my earlier studies, so no blending of paint.  And in oil paint, there's a color called Indian yellow (that's historically thought to have derived from ... um, I'll let you look up the kind of unappealing origin story if you want) that I think might work well in the rocks. This is the big idea for a big painting!

This was painted after the seascape.  It's a little larger than the other one, but same idea -- a wide format with an expansive view.  It's what I was looking at while I was working on the other one using studies from the beach.
